Angels are spiritual beings believed to act as attendants, agents, or messengers of God. They exist in heaven, or the spirit realm, which is a level of existence higher than the physical universe. The word "angel" comes from the Greek word aggelos, which means "messenger."
Who or what are angels?
No. Angels are not glorified human beings and is never described this way in the Bible. Matthew 22:30 explains that Angels do not marry or reproduce as humans do. Hebrews 12:22-23 says that when people go to the heavenly Jerusalem, we will be met by "myriads of angels" and "the spirits of righteous men made perfect" - two separate groups.
Do people become angels after death?
The phrase, "got their wings" is incorrect based on what the Bible teaches about angels.
